Notice is hereby given that on the first Tuesday of October (October 1, 2013) the General municipal election of the City of Kachemak, Alaska, will be held in accordance with Alaska Statute 29.26.010 for the purpose of electing the following officials in accordance with AS 29.20.140:
One Councilmember, Seat A, 3 year term
One Councilmember, Seat D, 3 year term
One Councilmember, Seat G, 3 year term
"Voter" means a United States citizen who is qualified to vote in state elections and has been a resident of the City of Kachemak for thirty (30) days immediately preceding the election and who is registered to vote in state elections and is not disqualified under Article V of the State Constitution. AS 29.26.050.
DECLARATION OF CANDIDACY forms will be available from August 16, 2013 to September 11, 2013 from the City Clerk's Office, either by mail at P.O. Box 958, Homer, Alaska 99603 or in person at the Kachemak Community Center (59906 Bear Creek Drive) during regular office hours (Monday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm) or by appointment.

Declaration of Candidacy will be accepted in the City Clerk's Office Thursday, August 1, 2013 8:00 a.m. until Thursday, August 15, 2013 5:00 p.m. for the following offices/terms:

Karen Hornaday Park Picnic Shelter
Sealed bids for the Karen Hornaday Park Picnic Shelter will be received at the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, City of Homer, 491 East Pioneer Avenue, Homer, Alaska, until 2:30 PM, Thursday, August 8, 2013, at which time they will be publicly opened and read. The time of receipt will be determined by the City Clerk's time stamp. Bids received after the time fixed for the receipt of the bids shall not be considered. Bidders are required to be on the plan holder's list to be considered responsive. To be on the Bidder's List (and to obtain bid documents) contact: City Clerk, 491 E. The project is funded by a State Legislative Grant. The City's local bidder's 5% preference requirements will not apply; state prevailing wage rates will apply. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following:
To construct a new wood framed picnic shelter located at the Karen Hornaday Park. The shelter will consist of a glue lam beam structure resting on a poured in place concrete foundation along with exterior wind screen partitions for additional protection. Located within close proximity of the shelter there will be a fire ring with concrete benches for public usage.

A pre-bid conference will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Karen Hornaday Park to discuss the project and answer any questions bidders may have.
Contact the Office of the City Clerk to request an electronic copy of Plans and Specifications at no charge or obtain hard copies upon payment of $190 per set ($225 for overnight delivery). City of Homer Standard Construction Specifications 2011 Edition (containing general contract provisions) may be downloaded from the City's web site. All fees are non-refundable. The City of Homer reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities or informalities in the bids, and to award the contract to the lowest responsive bidder.
